Amie’s research areas focus on qualitative research related to lived experience, loss and grief, emotional trauma, disability, and using research to extend the public’s understanding of an issue, and to drive positive change in those areas. Amie is an older student with neurodiversity and a hidden disability. She has four children, each of whom has diverse disabilities and levels of functioning. Her experiences provide a unique perspective that she brings to her education, research, and work.
